The Nerazurri played well, not Barça playing poorly. Inter dominated the game until the last quarter of the game when they fell back into a “classical” Italian defensive position, which allowed the Blaugrana to play their game. Speaking about allowance, Barçelona wasn’t allowed to play their game and the sole reason for this is Inters defensive play. What a performance! Inter was the dominating team and out-witted the spanish and european champions.
Speaking about champions, I sincerely believe Inter will ‘bring home the bacon’ 22nd of May and become the new Champions of Europe Barça at the Nou Camp is not an easy game, but all things considered, they wont manage to beat Inter 2-0, not with Cambiasso, Motta, Lucio and Samuel on defense, especially when we got Etoó and Milito ever so close to the offside trap, ready to counter attack. Barcelona is good, really good, but only if one allow them to play their own football. Something Inter will not allow them to do. I’ve said it a long time, Messi is the best because he’s allowed to be the best, this is the most prominent reason. Yesterdays clash is an indication for the accuracy of my prediction.
The referee and his team did an good job. Milito was unfortunately offside, but he was onside in the opening minues when he was alone with Valdés. Alvés was correctly provided a yellowcard, as was “I’l drago” Stancovic. Pazza Calcio, this is a part of the game and it evens out in the long run. Nothing anyone can do about it…
With the intentions of not being ungrateful, I want to thank Ibrahimovic. Not for the numerous Scudetto he’s rewarded us with, not for playing poorly in yesterdays game, but for allowing Inter to become the team they are today! Grazie Ibra, grazie Barça, grazie “los Merenques”, grazie Moratti e Mourinho. GRAZIE INTERNAZIONALE!
Ps: I havent received an update on Maicon, I’m guessing a minor concussion and, considering the slow-mo footage, he lost a few teeth. I don’t think he’ll miss the return game next week, although with a tooth or two less than usual.
